did you know?

so, who knows what that YKK on your zipper means?

The initials you see on darn near every zipper you own stand for Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha, which translates into “Yoshida Manufacturing Corporation.” The company is named after Tadao Yoshida, who started the zipper concern in Tokyo in 1934.

Love Lost The Temper Trap

tuneage:

The Temper Trap - “Love Lost”

If you haven’t heard The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” yet then you are probably living as a hermit. The song rose to popularity after being featured in 500 Days of Summer, the TV show Greek and a Chrysler ad. It is the new hipster theme song.

“Love Lost” is a little less retro sounding than “Sweet Disposition,” but employs the same technique of building up to the refrain, and still maintains the same endearing quality. There is something vaguely electronic about their sound but coupled with acoustics (clapping and guitar) — it gives them a unique sound, and the crooning, falsetto lead singer, Dougy Mandagi, has an enchanting voice. Fans of The xx and Phoenix should take note of this budding band.
